NEC System Technologies Introduces GA88 Series/ISHITEG, an Advanced Graphics IP that Realizes High Quality Graphics in Embedded Appliances |
May 10, 2007-NEC System Technologies, Ltd. announced today the launch of its GA88 Series/ISHITEG, an embedded graphics IP that realizes highly functional and high-performance two dimensional graphics in mobile phones, digital home appliances, and other embedded appliances with visual display functions. Sales will start at the end of June.
ISHITEG is an embedded graphics IP equipped with a vector graphics engine. With this engine, drawings better retain their detail after enlargement or reduction as compared to conventional bitmap drawings.
NEC System Technologies has proposed a wide range of products within the GA88 Series and will provide various embedded graphics IPs that accommodate different graphics use.
Features of ISHITEG, the first of the series, are as follows.

Vector Graphics Engine |

A vector graphics engine has been installed on the ISHITEG's hardware level in order to reduce the CPU load and to enable high-speed drawing.
Vector graphics technology allows the expression of detail with a small amount of data and also smooth enlargement and reduction while retaining high quality, which was not possible with conventional bitmap drawings.

Standard API accommodating Open VG |

ISHITEG provides general purpose API that is compliant with Open VG for graphics control. The higher the graphics processing function, the more complicated the control software and larger the development. Know-how and skills for determining the specification system are also required. The general purpose API can enhance the efficiency of more complicated application development. |

Porting services |

ISHITEG is provided with porting services for various hardware and OS. Also, hardware and drivers are completely supported through in-house development. |
