NEC System Technologies Links CyberWorkBench with Sequence Design's PowerTheater, Power Consumption Analysis Tool - Quick Design of Circuits with Optimal Power Consumption through C-based LSI Design Made Possible - |
April 23, 2007-NEC System Technologies, Ltd. has joined the In-Sequence Technology Partner Program that promotes interoperability and advanced design methodologies for Sequence Design's EDA tools. The partner program will enable C-based LSI designers using NEC's CyberWorkBench (hereinafter referred to as "CWB") to work with Sequence's power consumption analysis tool, PowerTheater, resulting in a circuit with optimal power consumption in a short period of time.
With conventional manual RTL design, the challenge was to differentiate circuits with small power consumption from ones with small energy consumption. As a result of the new partnership, CWB's behavioral synthesis results can be linked to PowerTheater for quick analysis of various features, including performance, area, and power trade-off. It is now possible for a system LSI designer to determine the power consumption value in the early design stage. With this information, designers can evaluate these factors during the design process so that circuits with minimal power consumption can be quickly designed.

Vic Kulkarni, Sequence Design president and CEO said, "We're very pleased to welcome NEC System Technologies's into the In-Sequence Technology Partner program. Performance, area, and power are the three keys to success in recent LSI design. Sequence's PowerTheater and NEC System Technologies's CyberWorkBench ESL synthesis technology combine perfectly to optimize all of these critical variables."
