NEC System Technologies Commercializes "CyberWorkBench", a Series of Next Generation System LSI Design Tools - A significant improvement of LSI design efficiency and a substantial reduction in the development cycle made possible by the C language design environment - |
June 8, 2006-NEC System Technologies, Ltd. announced today that they plan to commercialize and sell their product, "CyberWorkBench" (hereinafter referred to as "CWB"), a series of design tools that significantly improves the efficiency of the system LSI designing process. The company will actively address the EDA (Electronic Design Automation) market as a field for this new business.
CWB is a series of advanced system LSI designing tools utilizing a C language that NEC Central Research Laboratories has been developing over the years. A system LSI design process consists of a function to design RTL (*1) out of the behavioral level, logic design out of RTL, and then layout design for implementation. The logic design has already been automated by a logic synthesizing tool, but CWB system LSI design automates the function design which precedes the logic design process.
(*1) RTL (Register Transfer Level) is a level that describes circuits such as LSI via flip-flop combined with combinational circuits.
