June 29, 2005-NEC Corporation and NEC System Technologies, Ltd. announced today that the companies have launched "Font Avenue/Mobile", a high quality, scalable font for embedded devices such as mobile phones and car-mounted devices.
Today, there are an increasing number of markets for embedded devices with small displays that require highly scalable fonts. These devices are numerous including mobile phones for using the internet and email, digital broadcast systems for data broadcast, and electronic TV guides. The combination of NEC's Font Avenue/Mobile and the precision of new liquid crystal displays in embedded devices can now support consumer requirements for scalable fonts.
