- Releasing New Products, Providing Consulting Services and Training SOA Engineers - |
April 18, 2005-NEC System Technologies, Ltd. and NEC Corporation announced today that they have commercialized new "VALUMO Ware" products, a Middleware Product Group, and started their sale. These new middleware products include software for application servers and access management, and also platform software designed for inter-company business collaboration. They aim to enhance functions for realizing higher speed in implementation and modification as well as security improvement for systems that are based on "Service Oriented Architecture (SOA)".
Simultaneously, the companies will provide SOA consulting services on the design and implementation of systems that are based on SOA by conducting a thorough analysis of the existing user corporations' business processes.
Furthermore, in order to promote the business of system design and implementation based on SOA, ten core SOA architects will be available for this consulting work by September, 2005. Also, by promoting the diffusion of SOA technology and through additional internal training in the Software Engineering Division, the number of system engineers who are capable of the design and implementation of systems based on SOA will increase to fifty by March, 2006.
SOA is a design method for constructing an information system as an aggregate of services. By utilizing standard technologies such as Web services, SOA enables the integration of different services that constitute a system without concerns about the development language or operational environment. Since the services can easily be reused, this architecture can work flexibly with new system designs and system modifications, thereby improving the productivity of system implementation. It allows quick support for launching new businesses or inter-company collaboration as well as system optimization, and is attracting much attention today.
