NEC to offer "CLUSTERPRO Single Server Safe",
a Software Product Which Improves Availability of Single Server Systems |
October 26, 2004-NEC Corporation announced today that it will deploy its software product for improving availability of single server systems, "CLUSTERPRO Single Server Safe". CLUSTERPRO was developed and commercialized jointly with NEC System Technologies, Ltd. The company will make the product available starting October 29.
The newly offered product will automatically detect software failures in operating systems or applications, and can automatically reboot them as necessary. The software improves availability of a business system operating on a single server through various features, including mirrored Network Interface Card for LAN access device for a single server. Moreover, since it allows shifting to a cluster configuration (CLUSTERPRO System), it is possible to design systems in a flexible architecture according to business needs and budget. NEC expects to sell 6,000 licenses in the next three years.
