NEC System Technologies and MySQL AB To Collaborate in Offering "Professional Services"

June 1, 2004-NEC System Technologies, Ltd. announced today that it has formed an alliance with MySQL AB to offer professional services with engineers of MySQL. MySQL AB has a large share and excellent track records in the field of Open Source Software (OSS) database. Under this agreement, the companies will work together to market MySQL products. Both companies will license, develop corresponding products, and providing technical support service and training. The companies will aim at offering high-quality OSS-based systems at low cost.
Under this agreement, NEC System Technologies will enhance the support for the OSS database. OSS database is expected to grow as more companies introduce OSS for the purpose of reducing IT investment costs as the e-Japan Strategy II takes off. As a member of OSS Collaborative Team, NEC System Technologies will offer "OSS Middleware Support Service" which were announced by NEC Corporation on May 19. NEC System Technologies will collaborate with NEC in offering and promoting "Construction Services" in the MySQL field as well as "Maintenance Support Service" for the database. In addition, NEC System Technologies will aim to offer comprehensive services including platform construction, planning, system construction, and operational support for OSS-based systems in the enterprise system field.
