NEC System Technologies to Offer Mobile Information Protection Software "MobileProtect" |
November 28, 2003-NEC System Technologies announced the February 2003 availability of MobileProtect, a software product that provides robust protection for data stored on mobile PCs, USB Memory sticks and in other mobile media.
The company ensured data security by employing unique two-factor authentication that uses a combination of keys that are assigned to each of PC and mobile media.
In addition, the software can automatically encrypt or decrypt designated confidential files. No special hardware is required, and users can protect their information by simply installing the software in users' media (flash memory, floppy disk, etc.) to build solid security with minimum work.
Security can be further reinforced by using fingerprint authentication USB memory, "ThumbDrive (developed by Trek)," which is an option.
