NEC System Technologies and IONA Technologies Japan to Collaborate
in System Integration under Strategic Alliance |
October 1, 2003-NEC System Technologies, Ltd. and IONA Technologies Japan, Ltd. announced today that they have agreed to collaborate in sales of system integration products and joint development of solutions. Under the agreement, NEC System Technologies became a certified solution partner of IONA Technologies Japan.
NEC System Technologies will sell IONA Technologies Japan's Orbix system integration product and other middleware. Using these products the companies will also jointly develop solutions mainly targeting government and public offices, telecommunication carriers and manufacturers.
In addition, the companies will take advantage of their technological capabilities to jointly promote products in the system integration field, and utilize IONA Technologies Japan's system integration products to develop solutions. The companies target sales of 4 billion yen in next three years in system integration business related to Orbix. In addition, NEC System Technologies plans to establish an in-house technical center dedicated to this technology and train 10 core members by the end of the year.
