NEC System Technologies and IBM Japan to Collaborate in E-Business System |
Osaka, Japan -May 26, 2003-NEC System Technologies and IBM Japan announced today that they will collaborate in construction of "e-Business systems" catering to small and medium-sized corporations.
The latest collaboration is aimed at promoting e-business system construction that combines NEC System Technologies's "eBizSolution" business framework software for enabling speedy and efficient system construction of Web-based commerce, marketplace and community sites with IBM's middleware, including "WebSphere Application Server" Web application server software, "DB2.UDB" database management software and "Lotus Notes/Domino" collaboration software.
Also, NEC System Technologies will actively train its engineers on the IBM middleware, targeting 100 certified staffs by the end of the year. IBM Japan, on the other hand, will provide NEC System Technologies with information and technological support for "WebSphere Application Server", "DB2 UDB" and "Lotus Notes/Domino". The companies will jointly promote e-business system construction and carry out sales promotion activities.
NEC System Technologies, backed by its considerable experience in business application development for small and medium-sized corporations, provides system planning, consulting, construction, operational support and outsourcing, as well as IT platform development and integration as one-stop solution. IBM Japan is widening business partner strategies in a bid to expand its market share for middle-sized corporations. Under the latest collaboration, the companies agreed to jointly propel business strategies targeting small and medium-sized corporations.
